InterViews with Paint and Silver (2005)
For this project I paired black and white photographs with abstract color watercolors. I borrowed part of my concept from the principle of 3D: seeing through two separate eyes gives us greater depth of perception. In presenting two visual languages together I wanted to stimulate, in the viewer, two modes of looking at the same time, so that more might be seen in each, because of the other.
Each painting and photograph had already been created independently; they were paired only later.
A limited edition portfolio of five image combinations was published to accompany two solo exhibits of this work.
